Rising stars The Vamps have revealed that if their second single, ‘Wild Heart’, bags the No.1 spot on the Official UK Top 40 this coming weekend they will do “something crazy” to commemorate it.

The track is currently at No.2 following the recent announcement of the midweek singles chart update, but it could push ahead of Clean Bandit’s ‘Rather Be’ to take the top spot when the positions are confirmed on Sunday, January 26.

Speaking to Yahoo! OMG about releasing ‘Wild Heart’, the group explained that it has a different sound and they’re nervous to discover the final placement of it: “It’s just feel good track with a real folky vibe about it. It’s different to our first single ‘Can We Dance’ in a sense that there’s more instrumental stuff. We get really nervous the night before any single gets released and we won’t be able to sleep. We’ll be nervous the whole week really – last time it was a battle.”

The band’s frontman, Brad Simpson, added: “There is added pressure – but we’re trying not to think about the pressure. When it’s out there, it’s up to the public. It would be such a dream to get a number one though.”

When asked how they would celebrate a chart victory, the lads all agreed that it would have to be with something major: “What would we do? Something crazy like do a bungee jump off a building – or do one of those jumps like in anchorman when they get suits. We’ll hit it hard – go out in London.”
